Hokera Wetland

Hokersar Wetland is designated as Ramsar convention on November 2005. Located at the northwest Himalayan biogeopgraphic province of Kashmir India, back of the snow-draped Pir Panchal, Hokersar wetland is only 10 km from scenic paradise of Srinagar. A natural perennial wetland contiguous to the Jhelum basin.It is located near locality of umerabad and gund hassi bhat It is famaous for visitation of foreign birds that visit it every year some of them are Brahminy Duck, Tufted Duck, Gadwall, Garganey, Greylag Goose, Mallard, Common Merganser, Northern Pintail, Common Pochard, Ferruginous Pochard, Red-Crested Pochard, Ruddy Shelduck, Northern Shoveler, Common Teal, and Eurasian Wigeon.
