Cadwork, est un logiciel de conception assisté par ordinateur tridimensionnel, créé en 1980 au Laboratoire Suisse de Recherche Horlogère (LSRH) à Neuchâtel par Y. Depeursinge, chef de projet, M. Bogdanski et M. Belot avec le soutien de l’École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), G. Garcia et W. Voirol. Le premier manuel de référence de la version 1.0 date d’octobre 1983. Développé initialement en FORTRAN IV sur un ordinateur Digital VAX-11/780, avec comme principe de séparer la topologie de la métrique. Ceci permettait de facilement dimensionner et simuler des systèmes.
