Amaterasu
Amaterasu, also known as Amaterasu-Ōmikami or Ōhirume-no-Muchi-no-Kami (大日孁貴神) among other names, is the goddess of the sun in Japanese mythology. One of the major deities (kami) of Shinto, she is also portrayed in Japan's earliest literary texts, the Kojiki and the Nihon Shoki, as the ruler of the heavenly realm Takamagahara and the mythical ancestress of the Japanese imperial house via her grandson Ninigi. Along with her siblings, the moon deity Tsukuyomi and the impetuous storm god Susanoo, she is considered to be one of the "Three Precious Children", the three most important offspring of the creator god Izanagi.

Amaterasu , Amaterasu-ōmikami ou Ōhirume-no-muchi-no-kami é uma parte do círculo mitológico japonês e domina o panteão da religião xintoísta. Ela é a deusa do sol, mas também do universo. O nome Amaterasu é derivado de Amateru que significa "que brilha no céu." O sentido do seu nome completo, Amaterasu-ōmikami, é "a Grande Deusa Augusta que ilumina o céu". O Imperador do Japão diz-se ser um descendente direto de Amaterasu.

Amaterasu Ō-Mikami o Amaterasu Okami entre otros nombres, es la diosa del sol en la mitología japonesa. Una de las principales deidades (kami) del sintoísmo, también es representada en los primeros textos literarios de Japón, el Kojiki y el Nihonshoki, como gobernante del reino celestial Takamagahara y el antepasado mítico de la familia imperial japonesa a través de su nieto Ninigi. Junto con sus hermanos, la deidad lunar Tsukuyomi y el impetuoso dios de la tormenta Susanoo, se la considera uno de los "Tres Niños Preciosos", los tres descendientes más importantes del dios creador Izanagi.
